Stadium calculator calculates the area of a stadium by knowing its radius of semi-circle or diameter and length of the rectangle.

Stadium Area Formula

As shown, a stadium is formed by two semi-circles and a rectangle.

Therefore the area of the stadium is an area of one circle plus a rectangle area.

The stadium area formula is

πr² + L x 2r

where
r = radius of the semi circle.
L = length of the rectangle.
π ≈ 3.1415926.

Example

For example, if the semi-cirle radius is 10, and the length of the rectangle is 5 of a stadium.

The area is calculated as

A = π r² + L x 2r
= 3.1416 x 10² + 5 x 2 x 10
= 414.16
