Surface area of a rectangular prism calculator is to calculate a rectangular prism's surface area. Surface area of a rectangular prism formula is show below on how to find the surface area of a rectangular prism.
Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism |

Unit of Length | |
Length(l) | |
Width(w) | |
Height(h) |

The surface area of a rectangular prism formula is
SA=2(lw+hw+lh), where
l=length
h=height
w=width
Rectangular prism is a solid three dimensional object, it has either six flat surfaces of rectangles or four rectangles with two squares.
A rectangular prism has total 12 lengths. There are three different lengths which are length, width and height that we can find to use for calculating its surface area.
When there is two lengths are equal, it will make a square prism. To find surface area of rectangular prism, we calculate six area of different rectangle sides
and add them together.
Following is how to calculate surface area of a rectangular prism with length 2, width 1 and height 1.5.
Surface Area = 2 x (2 x 1+2 x 1.5+1 x 1.5) = 13.
