Constant of Proportionality Calculator

Constant of proportionality calculator calculates the constant of the proportionality based on the dependent variable value and independent value.

Constant of Proportionality Calculator

Dependent Variable y
Independent Variable x
Constant of Proportionality (k) 0.2

Constant of Proportionality Formula

Constant of proportionality formula is:
k=y/x
while
y = Dependent variable
x = Independent variable

Constant of Proportionality Example

You can apply the constant of proportionality formula in a lot of scenarios.
For example, if you take 4 hours travel time from New York to Boston (215 miles), you can use it to calculate your average speed.

In this case, the travel distance is y, and time is x, and the average speed is k, therefore
k=y/x
=215/4
=53.75.
