Batting Average |
The batting average formula is:
For baseball:
BA = Hits / at Bats
For example, if a player has 10 hits and 40 at-bats,
the batting average is calculated as follows:
BA = 10 / 40 = 0.250
In baseball, a batting aveage below 0.200 is considered poor, and higher than 0.300 is considered excellent.
For cricket:
BA = Runs / Times Out
For example, if a player has scored a total of 150 runs and has been out 5 times,
the batting average is calculated as follows:
BA = 150 / 5 = 30.00
In cricket, a batting average above 50.00 is considered excellent,
while an average below 20.00 is considered poor.
