Signal to Noise Ratio Calculator

Signal to noise ratio calculator calculates the relative levels between the signal and the background noise.

Signal to Noise Ratio

A higher signal to noise ratio (SNR) indicates a better sound quality compared to background noise, whereas a lower SNR implies a noisier background.

The formula for signal to noise ratio is:

SNR = 20log( Signal / Noise)

Using the given formula, where the signal measures 100 volts and the noise measures 34 volts, the signal to noise (SNR) can be calculated:

SNR = 20 x log ( 100 / 12 )
       = 18.4
